2013 Best Practices Symposium
Thanks to everyone who made this year's Best Practices Symposium, "Build Your Own Symposium: Learning as a Community" held on Friday, April 5, 2013, a success. Special thanks to our hosts at Northern Illinois University for all their support! Presentation materials are now posted under the "Documents" tab; descriptions of the Poster Sessions are also attached below. Watch this space for information on next year's symposium, as well as other CILC projects.
Linking Together
In order to aid members in finding out what other colleges are doing with their programs, under our "Links" tab, we've been adding links to various institution's Learning Communities websites. If your college or university has an LC website that you'd like to have added to our list, please contact us at allenj@cod.edu.
Connect with CILC
The CILC is also available for consulting or workshops--right on your campus! If there's an issue your institution is facing, such as curriculum development, marketing, integrating assignments, assessment, or other such matters, that you'd like help addressing, just contact us! Draw on the expertise of other faculty and institutions that are part of the CILC!
Kingsborough Community College Summer Institute on Learning Communities
There is still some time to register a team for the Kingsborough Community College Summer Institute on Learning Communities, happening this June 12-14, 2013. (Deadline is May 15!)
Our keynote speakers are Dr. Joye Hardiman, Professor Emerita, The Evergreen State College at Tacoma, and Ms. Rachel Singer, Vice-President of Community College Relations and Applied Research, Achieving the Dream.
